Parole violation: there are two types of parole violations: revocation and forfeiture. Revocation refers to a discretionary decision of the National Parole Board to withdraw parole privileges. Forfeiture refers to the automatic withdrawal of parole following conviction for an indictable offence.

La violation des conditions de la libération conditionnelle peut entraîner deux types de mesures: la révocation et la déchéance. Il s'agit, dans le premier cas, d'une décision laissée à la discrétion de la Commission nationale des libérations conditionnelles de retirer ce privilège. La déchéance, par contre, est l'annulation automatique de la libération conditionnelle à la suite d'une condamnation pour un acte criminel.
